Payment Protector
What would you do if you were suddenly unable to make your credit card payments?
Our Payment Protector plan can help.
Payment Protector is designed to protect you in the event of your:
- involuntary job loss
- disability
- unpaid leave of absence
- hospitalization
- accidental death
Payment Protector can cancel your TD Visa minimum monthly payments or outstanding balance when you can't make the payments.
How does it work?
In the event I become unemployed, disabled, or are hospitalized
If you find yourself out of work, through no fault of your own, Payment Protector can cancel your monthly minimum payments on your TD Visa. For job loss or disability benefits, your monthly minimum payments will be cancelled until either you return to work, or the outstanding balance has been cancelled, up to a maximum of $10,000 or 24 minimum monthly payments cancelled. If you are hospitalized for at least two consecutive nights, Payment Protector can cancel your monthly minimum payment, up to a maximum of $10,000 or 24 minimum monthly payments combined for all individually-approved qualifying events. If I am approved to take an unpaid leave of absence If you are approved to take an unpaid leave of absence from work, Payment Protector can cancel up to 6 consecutive minimum monthly payments on your TD Visa, up to a maximum of $10,000 or until you return to work, or the outstanding balance has been cancelled.
In the event of an accidental death
In the event of your death due to an accident, the outstanding balance on your TD Visa (on the date of your death) can be cancelled, up to a maximum of $10,000. Payment Protector will provide your loved ones with the security of knowing that they will have one less financial obligation.
How much does it cost?
The cost of Payment Protector is just $0.89 per $100 of the average daily balance. The Plan fee will be charged to your account and will appear on your monthly statement. If you do not have a balance on your TD Visa, you will not be charged a Plan fee.
Who is eligible to enroll?
You may enroll for Payment Protector if you are the primary cardholder of an active TD Visa Card account that offers the Payment Protector plan. Your account must be open and in good standing so that we may charge the plan fee to your account.
